Our Scouts
A Scout:
Cultivates a safe, inclusive and collaborative Foundry studio environment and culture
Supports an inclusive, fun and creative community
Actively expands their ability to explore new ideas Is a student leader, mentor, Foundry ambassador and liaison to the BOW colleges
Consults, supports and assists all members of the BOW Community in the development of ideas and projects
Is available, friendly and responsive
Is part of a diverse workforce, who represent the many backgrounds, identities, disciplines and departments within BOW
Has a broad understanding of equipment and technical processes to train and advise the BOW community
Feels comfortable with unconventional ideas, approaches and solutions
Is driven to be a self-starter
Has high professional standards and personal expectations
How can they help me?
Using the skills listed on a Scout's Plaque, or by clicking through their image below, folks from the BOW community may create a team around an idea or project. Then reach out to a Scout or Scouts for consultation.
On duty Scouts can be identified by their Red Aprons or by the "On Duty" wall next to the monitor in the Workroom. You can usually find a Scout at the desk in the Workroom.
Want to become a Scout?
We will accept applications for Scout employment near the end of each semester for the next semester. Please review the most recent job description, including position requirements, for the Scout role here before applying. We, generally, hire several in-person Scouts each semester and employ a team of about 25 students each semester as well as addition Student staff to help run our Fellowship grant programs and Social Media channels.
