Discharge Printing Workshop
Hello, Im Scout Grace and I hosted the Discharge printing workshop.
Leading a hands-on workshop on discharge printing has been a deeply fulfilling and creative experience in my life. This practice combines creativity and precision, allowing people to express their imagination while learning the intricacies of this fascinating printing technique. This includes: A soft scrub with bleach, silk screens, and the design they want to use for their bag stencil.
Discharge printing is a great feature because it's a simpler version of traditional screen printing. With discharge printing, you can apply ink through a screen to create designs on fabric. This method removes the colors from the material instead of adding more pigments. It creates a gentle and authentic tactile experience. This method not only reduces the mess of traditional screen printing, but it also makes sure that the patterns are bright and long-lasting.
Here are a few photos of users working on their creations from the workshop …
Throughout the workshop, participants get to see their creative ideas transform in a magical way. When they put on the soft scrub, they can see under pigment appearing or changing right in front of them. The excitement of not knowing what will happen adds a burst of excitement to the process, making creative people stay flexible and innovative on the spot. It's amazing to see how happy they are when they realize they can try out different ways and patterns.
It is truly rewarding to guide them as they explore their creativity using this practical approach.
